Own backend systems end to end — architecture, code, deploy and the pager. You will be one of a small number of people responsible for systems real businesses depend on.

What you will do
- Design and build backend services for client platforms
- Own systems in production, including on-call rotation
- Make and document architecture decisions
- Review code and mentor engineers earlier in their career
- Talk directly to clients about technical trade-offs
What we are looking for
- Strong PHP, Go, Node or Python in production
- Solid relational database design — you can explain your indexes
- Experience owning a system after launch, not just building it
- Comfortable writing prose as well as code
- Able to disagree with a client's technical direction, in writing, politely
